David Godding is a Cotswolds-based artist working mainly in oils to produce studies in portraiture and still life. His portraiture work explores realistic and expressive representation to draw out the raw emotions of his subjects, while his still life works focus on the geometry of subject and use of colour. He continues to explore and develop his art through close observation of the human form and countenance, and has completed a number of commissioned pieces for friends, family and local clients.  

David, who lives with his wife in the Stroud Valleys, passionately believes that art is a continual journey of evolution and progression of discovery in understanding the translation of real life into a visual form.
